Patrick, I wanted to say thanks for some kind words you posted about me on the web, specifically about my book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Algebra. You wrote:

"It's too bad you can't lure W. Michael Kelley away from his franchise at that other publisher. I've been working with his algebra book and his goofy stories, bad puns, and inspired metaphors/similes really make a difference. He (with someone on board for visuals) could pull off an algebra book in HF format if anybody could. "

Every sis months or so, I Google my name and squint through the results. People who write (and actually enjoy writing) Complete Idiot's Guides and Dummies books are often easy targets for criticism, and when I see un-begged-for-praise, it truly lifts the spirits. Thanks so much for starting my day off right :)

Hey Patrick,

long time no see! Remember the T-craft and photographing the Columbia river?

I'm still around. I retired from the U.S.B.R. in the spring of 1997 and moved to the Spokane area. I sold the T-craft and built a RV 8 low wing plane. Not as good as the T-craft for taking photos, but a lot faster. We now live in Cheney, WA where I went back to work for Eastern Washington University to pay for my toys.

    How are things with you?
